Yesterday morning I walked into the living room and saw that Owen's milk was dripping on to the new couch, I look at him, then look at the milk... "Owen! Do you not see your milk spilling? What should you do if your milk is spilling on the couch??" Owen does not move a muscle, looks at me and replies: "Call you?" Dear lord! No, wrong answer! I'm half laughing about this now, but I can tell you I wasn't laughing at the time.

This reminds me of this photo I saw on Instagram (below) particularly the caption of the little child asking her mom for her blanket that is sitting RIGHT BESIDE HER.  This is particularly my fault I'm positive of that, but it was a quick kick-in-the-butt reminder that my baby is no longer a baby and he should be doing more for himself.

So here we go, more independence will be happening in this house, i'll let you know how it goes. ;) Have a great weekend everyone! :)

The last few days have been the most enjoyable! I have had no stress, no worry, the only thing on my mind is my little one and what exciting things are to come.

Owen and I have been bowling, playing in arcades, feeding ducks at the park, eating out at local restaurants like "The Works", building forts, playing with ninja turtles, and cuddling on the couch, it has been perfect! :)

I even had the opportunity to indulge in an hour long bath-- which never happens... and not just any bath, a lemon and sea salt bath! I came across the idea from something I read online and truly, my body felt incredibly refreshed I just had to share this with you!

How to make a lemon sea salt bath:

Cut up one lemon and squeeze it into the bath water then leave the lemons in the tub to float around
Add 1/4 cup of sea salt to the warm bath water
Hop into the bath!

Some online articles suggest that the salt water/lemon bath helps to relieve tension and stress while cleanses the skin.

For me, I felt these benefits almost immediately, even as the day progressed I really felt refreshed! Definitely worth giving it a try! :)

My friend was telling me about Vector Cereal Bars that he makes himself at home.
Sunday during one of my study breaks I decided to make my own variation, let me tell you--these are delicious!! I made them with Dark chocolate (antioxidants) Coconut oil (boosted immune system) Vector cereal (fiber and vitamins) and honey (antibacterial properties) which makes this a perfect go-to snack!

What you will need:

Vector cereal

Local or Organic honey

Dark Chocolate about 8oz

Coconut oil

Instructions: Melt chocolate on slow in a sauce pan, add in 2 tables spoons of honey and a tablespoon and a half of coconut oil.

Pour half of a vector cereal box into a bowl, and cover with chocolate mixture.

Spread on to a pan that has been lined with wax paper and set into the fridge for an hour. Remove then cut into square or rectangular pieces. I then wrapped each individually snack size bags that you can find at the dollar store. Makes an easy grab and go snack! :)

After you

One day after school last week, instead of going straight home, we took a drive through the country side. Weeks before I took this same drive because Owen had fallen asleep in the car, I kept driving…Trust me, he needed his sleep. ;)

While driving down the country side we drove past a red barn that I had never seen before, it looked as though it was a store or burger place? Barn, cow, burger place… made sense to me. The other day I thought it would be fun to take a drive to this barn to see what it was exactly, and what it was a cheese barn! They sell all sorts of cheese, even cheese curds—delicious!  Pepperettes, fresh fruit, and other staples.
Owen and I left with a root beer, cream soda, sticks of meat and fresh concord grapes.

As I buckled Owen into his car seat, root beer in hand, he said: “This was really fun mommy”.  It just goes to show you, it really is the little things that matter most.

When we arrived home, we sat on the front porch and talked about our day, and how beautifully warm the weather was. When we were about to head inside Owen put his arm out to stop me “Let me get it” as he started to open the door, “after you, Mom”.

Not only are you sweet, and kind Owen, you are a gentlemen.
I am the luckiest lady in the world.

Lately, every time I have had a stomach ache, or start to feel like I am coming down with a cold, I had found after drinking the combination of freshly juiced carrot, ginger and apple, that I have felt remarkably better. With cold and flu season on the way, and little ones germs coming home from school, I would suggest making this drink on a regular basis, or when you feel the first signs of a cold coming on. These 3 ingredients all include antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and disease fighting compounds.

I was curious as to what the health benefits were for each, so I did a quick internet search. Below you will find more information and health benefits of ginger, carrot and apple:
